Reviving Traditional Tailoring And Promoting Sustainability In Everyday Life

The rise of fast fashion has drastically shortened the shelf life of clothing, fueling environmental challenges through excessive garment waste.

This design school project conceptualizes Sow a Seed - a hypothetical website created to drive positive social impact. The initiative provides a platform for upcycling clothing while supporting local and small businesses, with a special focus on reviving the fading craft of tailoring. The name symbolizes planting a seed to cultivate sustainability, community, and the beauty of a renewed tradition.

Research, User Personas & Wireframing

Part of the project was to do a full scale research. This entailed performing competitive analysis, gathering user insights, ensuring accessibility in navigation, and finally, creating wireframes for both web and mobile platforms.

The Interface

The interface is designed to be friendly and intuitive, with seamless navigation and a clear, self-explanatory user experience. Color theory guided the palette choices, ensuring a visually pleasing design that makes interactions easier for the user.

The visual language of the application is built on carefully created, hand-drawn illustrations.

Each element was thoughtfully made with intricate detailing, creating a warm, approachable aesthetic that makes the experience both visually engaging and intuitive to navigate from page to page.
